ON THE SEA

ON THE SEA ...

Un anchored  we smoothly sailed along
surrendering to nature singing a happy song
adjusting our sails to the winds of time
with faith in the captain our hearts just chimed.

Was it a ship or a small  fascinating town
Moving in the vast  ocean up and down
Happy smiling faces with excitement around,
The waves roaring softly with a welcoming sound.

A group of  chirpy lucky thirteen seniors
Cousins meeting after ages from far and near
Dining and dancing letting our hair down
No children around to disapprove and frown .

In the midst of a shimmering strong  Baltic sea
We  sail feeling  bonded ,awesome and free
The  silver peaked waves lash  around
None on the earth own their roaring sound .

The journey started from Copenhagen town
Denmark the happiest country in the world countdown
A city of canals and smiling faces for sure
An enchanting  place to start our exciting tour .

Late night celebrations and a good sleep
We wake up in Germany with the ships beep
Beautiful Watermunde and Rosstock we roam
There is folk dancing singing in the square under the dome .

Our next Port in Estonia is it's picturesque Tallin ,
The kissing sculpture a tribute to love that wins ,
The huge victory Column  and the Freedom  square
Reminds us of  the Russian war and the independence fair .

SaintPetersurg in Russia our most awaited destination ,
Awesome city of Palaces ,Cathedrals  and monuments ,
The majestic  bronze horse with Saint Peter atop ,
The stunning Church on spilled blood was our next  stop .

And now we entered the land of mid nights  sun ,
It's Helsinki in Finland  full of reindeers and flowery fun ,
The huge  white Cathedral where a live band played
The markets were filled with exotic fruits we craved .

The next was  Stockholm in Sweden our last dream port,
We roamed the  city in a hip hop bus and boat  in great sport
A mirage of Terracota  monuments  shimmering in the blue sea
The Vasa shipwreck and the museum  enfolded the mystery .

Alas the last day on the ship was embraced with a sad sigh ,
We had gathered and bonded in the sea under the blue sky ,
We danced and sang  together till we no longer could
We promised each other to repeat this and we should !!!!!
