A naughty little birdie,
Keeps pecking in the field,
The lonely scarecrow shouts ,
Why are you spoiling this yield?
I gather straw to build my nest ,
A soft cosy place for me to rest
The seeds I need to fill my belly,
She smiles and flies all over happily.
Poor scarecrow can't shove with his hands,
He fumes and frets ,that's all he can do,
But then he loves the pretty birdie's pranks,
She keeps on teasing ,while he shouts "shoo ".
Darkness sets in ,the birdie flies away,
The scarecrow feels very lonely and sad,
He eagerly awaits for the morning sun ray,
On spotting the little birdie he feels very glad.
The birdie today is crying her heart out,
The trees have been cut , she has lost her nest,
How cruel are men , the scarecrow shouts,
Come to me little birdie ,my head is your nest!
The cute little birdie hugs the huge scarecrow ,
She chirps and dances on the scarecrow's head,
Their love and affection genuinely shows,
"I love you pretty birdie "the scarecrow said .
During the day she keeps on flying around,
Talking and laughing with the scarecrow,
At night, on his soft head she quietly sleeps sound ,
Scarecrow never feels lonely now ,as the night grows.
Days pass by the scarecrow becomes old,
He stumbles and falls on the barren land,
The birdie still never leaves his soft head mould,
Till the crazy men come to plough and plan!
Foot notes
Cutting tress has many negative effects on the environment. The most dramatic impact is a loss of habitat for millions of species. Seventy percent of Earth’s land animals and plants live in forests, and many cannot survive the deforestation that destroys their homes.
This is a story of a bird who lost her nest when the trees where cut and the kind scarecrow.
