I am your soulful twin translucent eyes shining bright ,
I reflect the universe upside down in your intelligent brain
Refract the kaleidoscope of light in you mind's black night
My black-hole, iris-centered pupils contract and expand when you strain .
Absorbing galaxies of light, to transform the invisible into sight .
You are the lucky chosen one to see and read what's here
To continue right into your golden years give me your ears .

Eye conditions can run in families this fact cannot be dismissed .
Eat right ,a diet rich in vitamin A and omega 3 fatty acids .
I hate when you smoke ,it puts me in a terrible fix .
Hydration is important so that I don't feel dry and itchy
I blink 16 times a minute to keep myself wet and non sticky .
When I cannot see clearly you fall in school grades and stumble ,
I need to be checked regularly by a specialist to avoid these grumbles .
Spectacles when prescribed should be used as per advice.
Polaroid sunglasses on sunny days will cut the UV Sun rays to be precise
Focussing on computers or any one thing for very long ,
I get fatigued and also forget to blink ,that's very wrong ,
Try the 20-20-20 rule: this can help to reduce my strain
Every 20 min look away 20 ft in front of you for 20 secs ,don't refrain
Red eyes and foreign body sensations are never to be neglected
Graded blurring with age due to cataract needs to be frequently checked
Diabetes ,high blood pressure and glaucoma play havoc with my vision
Their progress may be slow so please make my check ups a regular mission
I have no voice for sure but I still speak volumes confidently ,
Of love,joy ,grief and fear,I even smile ,laugh and cry with tears in actuality .

The eye through which I see God is the same eye through which God sees me;
my eye and God's eye are one eye, one seeing, one knowing, one love.
We are endowed with five sense faculties: sight, hearing, taste , smell and touch. Of all these the faculty of sight is the most important. Eyes are therefore rightly spoken of as 'windows of the soul.' Some reptiles, too, transfix and paralyze their prey, making it immobile by casting their strong gaze on it.
The mother transmits her love to a baby through her eyes. Even the domestic animals find comfort from the loving gaze of their master. We use our eyes most of our time in admiring the outer surface of worldly things, and do not care to see the very soul of the matter that lies hidden underneath which speaks of the Great Creator, the creative life-principle, without which even the surface beauty cannot exist for a fraction of a second. .
The third eye (also known as the inner eye) is a mystical and esoteric concept referring to a speculative invisible eye which provides perception beyond ordinary sight.The third eye refers to the ajna, or brow, chakra. It is believed to be the gate that leads to inner realms and spaces of higher consciousness. It symbolizes a state of enlightenment or the imaginative recreation of mental images having deeply personal spiritual or psychological significance. The third eye is often associated with religious visions, clairvoyance, the ability to observe chakras and auras, pre recognition ,and out-of-body experiences. People who claim to have the capacity to utilize their third eyes are seers.
We cannot talk about eyes and forget Hellen Keller from whom we have learnt a lot .She was rendered deaf and blind at 19 months by scarlet fever, she learned to read (in several languages) and even speak, eventually graduating with honors .She authored 13 books, wrote countless articles, and devoted her life to social reforms Here are some of her quotes -
