MY BIRTHDAY ....MY THOUGHTS 

Today is my birthday ....  A celebration of my life .....The day God decided to send me on this holy earth ......come to think of it everyday is a celebration of life ..every day brings a new dawn .There was a desire to push the pedal  strongly all along those early years, to mature, to become an adult, to bring on greater age and to savor what comes with it .Now I depress the brakes of the pedal with equal effort, and hope to stem the slide as it were and accept everything gracefully, all that I got ,all that I lost and all that I have now . I accept the years, the giving up on time ,the giving up of my loving soulmate and giving up on age. It shall happen to us all. That is the commonality of the process of life. We are blessed, all of us .

Many years ago today was the day my mother felt proud cuddling her newborn  daughter in her arms .My parents left no stone unturned to make me what I am today .Ma and Pa  though you are not with me today I can feel your hand on my head blessing me ,I can feel your warm  breath in the air on this cold winter’s day ,I can feel your loving hug consoling me  during my failures . Ma you are the sound of the rain that lulls me to sleep, You both live inside  my laughter. You gave  me my first home, and a   map  to  follow with every step I took and you  were there to support me at every step I stumbled .You gave me all that I ever wanted .You were my first love, my first friend and even  my first enemy, but nothing on earth can separate you  from me ...Not time, not space…….. not even death. this poem is dedicated to you with lots of love .


Wish me happy birthday dear ,
It certainly peps me up with cheer ,
To count how long I have been here .
I need to scratch my head for sure .

Does it really matter how old I am ,
What really matters is how I swam.
Where I slipped and where I fell ,
How I let go the hurt and got  well ,

On  the roller coaster  waves I rode .
Many life lessons just  poured and flowed ,
Some  were sweet and some  were bitter .
But life taught me not to be  a quitter .

I learned to surf above the nasty throws 
The highs just came after each low ,
I swam with the tide along its flow ,
Realizing not to fight but to let go .

I let go my grief in loosing my soulmate ,
It  taught me ,to respect  Gods will and my fate .
To cherish what I have in my life now ,
 And to let the past not trouble me anymore 

Life  was not about how much I got 
Life  was all about giving others  a lot .
A happy me  was just not enough .
Making  others happy is what pulled me up 

God gave me all in abundance I agree ,
Reminding me daily  to distribute it for free ,
Love and kindness he gave me to share ,
Emptying myself brought more  to spare 

Every day brought a new beginning ,
Every mistake taught me the  next swing ,
Life's experiences  showed me the spiritual way ,
To be happy and spread happiness every single day .

Growing up  for sure is mandatory ,
But my heart growing old  is  not obligatory ,
Being young at heart is not age related ,
I wonder why this is often debated.

Acting my age is what is expected of me ,
How elders behave is a set pattern most see ,
But I want to  become a little child now 
Love ,laugh, play ,be happy with a child like glow .

A child with a new set of parents to chill ,
Yes they are my  caring sons and DIL'S ,
Their concerns  make me emotional sometimes ,
I thank the almighty for showing me these times .

The praise I get from my well wishers are HIS ,
HE does all and I get the credit ,
HE is my best friend doing all for me ..the doer ,
I am nobody .....being only ............the knower .

I am thankful to HIM  for always  being by my side ,
Never leaving my hand  however rough be the ride ,
I pray to God almighty with folded hands and bent knees ,
All we humans want in this world is love and peace .

Beautiful lovely friends ,meet at many bends 
Some leave early before you can rate 
Some leave late  even though you relate 
Some always stay No matter what  it takes 

Some make you laugh ,
Some laugh at your graph 
Some help you clean the mess ,
Though they didn't create the stress .

Some come running  in difficult  days ,
Giving you strength in many ways ,
Some make you feel really  very nice ,
Fill your life with  sugar and spice 

Create a space for you in their life ,
Jump to save you from an edgy knife ,
They are your true friends for sure ,
Do anything to make you feel secure .

Give them  the same love and care ,
For that's what is always fair .
Be with them when they need you ,
Wipe their tears and drive away their blues 

They are  true friends for sure 
They matter most to help you gear .
They know when your smile is fake
They can  always feel your pain and ache .

True friends are great for  good health .
They are Vitamin F adding oxygen to breath ,
Some even add to your spiritual wealth ,
They stand  tall by you till your death .

True friends support and believe in each other ,
Even in  dangerous and stormy weather .
Some are great to laugh with  and share jokes ,
Some  help to solve life's  serious pokes ,

Some stay with you through thick and thin ,
Make you smile and  make you grin 
Some are always  eager to  advice ,
Value true friends ,why make a choice .

Some  are fake opportunistic for sure ,
Taking advantage is all that they savor 
Trying to change them never  ever works ,
It only adds to your irritation and  irks .

They come in your life to get work done ,
Exploit your goodness and then make a run .
The sweetness in which they behave and  act ,
Their ulterior motive you can never suspect 

Some  always take and never give  back ,
As if you owed them all that they lacked ,
Some  just leave you in your difficult times ,
Where as some  put you in difficult times 

They came in your life  to make you aware ,
All friends are not the same  please beware 
Avoid  fake  friends as much as you can ,
They are an ugly blot on the friendship clan .

True loving friends are a blessing in life ,
God sent angels to help you strive .
Give them space  to breathe with freedom 
Being possessive in friendship is bad wisdom ,

If they are meant to be in your life with you .
They will always be there no matter what you do .
Be open ,sincere and honest with cheer ,
Friendship then will flourish in top gear.

Old  and true friends are  like old wine ,
Their concern  and love is truly divine .
Friends like Krishna and Sudama are rare  to find 
They are Gods gift of love and trust to mankind .

God on bended knees we pray ,
To show mankind the spiritual way ,
With so many paths under the stars 
Let  the righteous path be ours 

I hear cries of anguish on this one 
Stress is all over there in tons .
Crimes never seem to take a holiday ,
Rape and murder create headlines everyday ,

Sex and drugs are not hard to find .
It seems as if the world has gone  blind .
When children are welding guns .
Schools are no longer that fun ,

Politeness  has vanished away ,
Rudeness is having a hay day .
Moms  and dads are busy making money ,
Teens glued to phones are whispering to their honey .

A place which was once called home ,
Inmates now often make it a war torn zone ,
Its either TV watching or computer games ,
Or play stations on screen frames .

The parks are now gangster hide outs ,
Leaving kids to play alone there springs doubts ,
Little girls  need to be escorted every where ,
Perverts  prowling for a prey  create a scare .

Love birds of different castes and religions ,
Become victims of societies inhuman decisions ,
Corruption and greed  are the in thing ,
Might is right is the song they love to sing .

What was once right now seems so wrong ,
The beat and lyrics are so different in new songs ,
Old is no longer thought to be gold ,
It's now ok to rock ,bare and be bold .

In this chaos of crime ,corruption and despair ,
What has happened to humanity everywhere ?
Why are honest whistle blowers being punished ?
Why are  proclaimed god men who rape being sheltered ?

Having love faith and trust in our almighty creator ,
With folded hands we pray  to our supreme vindicator ,
To help  stop these  outrageous  acts  of man kind ,
And  give humans soundness to use their wise mind ,

Shake all with your supreme power and wisdom ,
And awaken their consciousness  in thy beloved kingdom 
Endow  all with good sense  to do good deeds ,
Shower  all with your grace and show all the path to heed 

God on bended Knees we pray 
We know you will show us the way
Make all paths lead to love harmony and peace,
We beseech you to bless humanity to live in ease .

We all know one day our body will die .
The soul will mingle with the divine 
And rise above to  the infinite sky 
This can't be denied my dear 
Life is to be lived without fear 

Life is to be happy in the present ,
It is futile to unnecessarily lament  
Our life together was Gods grace ,
I want you  to live with a brave face .

Pray and thank HIM for all that we shared ,
HE loved us and always cared ,
HE  joined our lives  in this  world ,

THE GREEDY BUSINESS MAN

A greedy business man yearned for  more and more .

On learning of a treasure hidden on a  high sandy hill 

Far far  away on the  huge rocky seashore .

He trudged all alone to get a bag filled 

Slipping many a times while walking upward,

Enduring the blazing sun and the blowing sand ,

He continued the difficult climb totally undeterred 

to reach the hill top and grab the treasure in his hand .

At last he was there feeling happy and  aware ,

that  soon he would have the riches in his bag .

But alas !he saw only a huge rock nearly square .

He wondered now ,what could be the real  snag ?

Oh ! I know he thought the treasure must be under the rock .

Puffing and huffing hard he turned the heavy rock stone .

On spotting a silvery shine on the opposite side of the block .

He shouted in ecstasy"Eureka ! there's silver here ,now my very own "

He rubbed very hard to shed the  silvery sand ,

An inscription then he  found clearly engraved 

"Greed is the root cause of evil in this land 

You should be satisfied with what you have in hand "

The greedy business man now realized his mistake ,

Returned to his house to work and hardly took a break 

Became sincere  and trust worthy in his business dealings ,

What he earned now gave him joy and satisfied his feelings .

THE MAGIC OF A HUG 

Her loving son was home today 
She  had no words to say ,
She hugged him tight instead ,
And felt her heart melt away .
The close warm hug kindled him ,
 Love just over flowed to the brim .

Two friends hugged each other ,
It showed they cared  liked loving brothers ,
They shared their sorrows and joys 
Hugging  like cute little boys .
They felt so nice and warm inside ,
Love and trust just poured in tides 

Mother cuddled her baby with a squeezing hug ,
The baby  curled up to her bosom feeling loved and snug .
The smiling girl  hugged her lovely white teddy bear ,
The soft closeness spoke of the love they shared .
It's funny how a hug makes everyone feel so good ,
In every place and time it is always understood .

A hug is an amazing way to show your love feelings ,
Exchange hugs with your loved ones they are so healing .
A hug builds trust and makes way for honest communication.
It is a magic remedy for anger ,loneliness and isolation .
A hug boosts  immunity ,relaxes muscles and reduces  pain 
It increases self esteem and self love a real long term gain .

Serotonin released  elevates moods and creates happiness ,
Oxytocin level increase creates bonding and closeness 
The pleasure hormone Dopamine's  levels are  boosted 
The stress hormone Cortisol gets a beating and is suppressed .
Hugs reduce stress,anxiety and high BP ,hence are  great for the heart .
So don't forget to hug your loved ones when you meet and part 

One hug equals to two as you give and receive 
Love  flows both ways and your insides  sense relieved ,
Relationships  are strengthened  energies  are exchanged 
Trust compassion and empathy  are  willingly perceived 
So just open up your hearts and open up your arms .
Hug your loved ones more often it never ever harms .

A hug  from  your loved one works wonders ...your love crush ,your spouse your kids  ,your best friend ,mother , your grandma, that adorable little baby , your cousins  etc I think we can all agree that hugging is awesome. A hug exchanged in joy or sorrow eases you heart and soul . It makes you feel good and it makes you smile.  It is many a times  better then words and it’s also awesome because it actually benefits your body  in many many ways by releasing  good hormones which are great for your physical ,mental and spiritual health that you probably didn’t know about. In some communities greeting  even  on the first introduction is done with a mild hug and a peck .

In fact  hugging  is like  meditation and laughter ,an extremely effective healing  therapy in sickness, disease, loneliness, depression, anxiety and stress.The gentle pressure on the sternum creates an emotional charge which activates the Solar Plexus Chakra. This stimulates the thymus gland, which regulates and balances the body's production of white blood cells, which keep us healthy and disease free.

A proper deep hug, where the hearts are pressing together, benefits you in  many ways: It nurtures  trust and a sense of safety, heals feelings of loneliness, isolation, and anger and elevates moods  Hugs  also strengthen the immune system and reduces tension ,helps the muscles to relax Hugs teach us how to give and receive.  and thus educate us how love flows both ways.The energy exchange between the people hugging is an investment in the relationship resulting in win-win outcomes.  Hugging makes you a better and a more compassionate  and an empathetic person and  softens your personality 

 The cuddles we received from our  parents while growing up  tell us we are loved and special .These remain imprinted  in our cells and therefore, connect us to our ability to self love and increase our self esteem 

Hugging is beneficial as long as you trust the person you embrace  not if you’re hugging randoms. In fact hugging people you’re not close to or you don’t know at all raises anxiety levels and actually makes you more stressed out .Obviously. How would you feel if you got a hug from a complete stranger out of nowhere? 

So if you’re feeling lonely  and sad, go ahead and ask your loved ones to hug you. Or  you just go and hug them. Obviously, you’ll feel much better in the end.

I am your soulful twin translucent  eyes shining bright ,

I reflect the universe upside down in your  intelligent brain 

Refract the kaleidoscope of light in you mind's black night 

My black-hole, iris-centered pupils contract and expand when you strain .

Absorbing galaxies of light, to transform  the invisible into sight .

You are the lucky chosen one to see and read what's here 

To continue right into your golden years give me your ears .

Please keep me healthy and abide by my  simple wish list 

Eye conditions can run in families this fact  cannot be dismissed .

Eat right ,a diet rich in vitamin A and omega 3 fatty acids .

I hate when you smoke ,it puts me in a terrible fix .

Hydration is important so that I don't feel dry and itchy 

I blink 16 times a minute to keep myself  wet and non sticky .

When I cannot see clearly  you fall in  school grades and stumble ,

I need to be checked regularly by a specialist  to avoid these grumbles .

Spectacles  when prescribed  should be used as per advice.

 Polaroid sunglasses on sunny days will cut the UV Sun rays  to be precise

Focussing on computers or any one thing for very long ,

I get fatigued  and also forget to blink ,that's very wrong ,

Try the 20-20-20 rule: this can help to reduce  my  strain 

Every 20 min look away 20 ft in front of you for 20 secs ,don't refrain 

Red eyes and foreign body sensations are never to be neglected  

Graded blurring with age due to cataract needs to be frequently checked 

Diabetes ,high blood pressure and glaucoma play havoc with my  vision 

Their progress may be slow so please make my check ups a regular mission 

I have no voice for sure but  I still speak volumes confidently ,

Of love,joy ,grief and fear,I even smile ,laugh and cry with tears in actuality .

I am the window to your soul ,look into the mirror gaze at me .

My silent soul will speak to you ,just listen ,don't you agree 

Sight is the great glory of our senses' ,mystic and a great wonder 

The tragic man is not  the one who really  cannot see .

He learns to live with content and stops his life from falling asunder 

The tragic man is he who can see like you and me but does not  want to see 

 He is the one who is unhappy ,always complaining .making  plenty blunders 

I am the window to your health and soul sublime ,

I show you the beautiful world and it's changing times ,

Keep me clean ,healthy  and shining bright 

Then  you can even see in me Gods love and light 

The eye through which I see God is the same eye through which God sees me;

my eye and God's eye are one eye, one seeing, one knowing, one love.

We are endowed with five sense faculties: sight, hearing, taste , smell and touch. Of all these the faculty of sight is the most important. Eyes are therefore rightly spoken of as 'windows of the soul.' Eyes reveal the inner state of the mind - whatever it be, of peace and tranquility, or of anger and unrest , love  and admiration .It is through the power of the eyes that a mesmerist or a hypnotist controls his subject. Some reptiles, too, transfix and paralyze their prey, making it immobile by casting their strong gaze on it.

The mother transmits her love to a baby through her eyes. Even the domestic animals find comfort from the loving gaze of their master. Poets sing of the laughing eyes, sparkling eyes, liquid eyes, languishing eyes, drilling eyes, speaking eyes, and so on. Romance is talking of love with your eyes .The silent language of the eyes is wonderful indeed. Words fail to convey the expressiveness of the eyes. With no words, the eyes are still eloquent. Their silent speech 

We use our eyes most of our time in admiring the outer surface of worldly things, and do not care to see the very soul of the matter that lies hidden underneath which speaks of the Great Creator, the creative life-principle, without which even the surface beauty cannot exist for a fraction of a second. .

The third eye (also known as the inner eye) is a mystical and esoteric concept referring to a speculative invisible eye  which provides perception beyond ordinary sight.The third eye refers to the ajna, or brow, chakra. It is believed to be the gate that leads to inner realms and spaces of higher consciousness. It symbolizes a state of enlightenment or the imaginative recreation of mental images having deeply personal spiritual or psychological significance. The third eye is often associated with religious visions, clairvoyance, the ability to observe chakras and auras, pre recognition ,and out-of-body experiences. People who claim to have the capacity to utilize their third eyes are seers.

We cannot talk about eyes and forget Hellen Keller from whom we have learnt a lot .She was  rendered deaf and blind at 19 months by scarlet fever, she learned to read (in several languages) and even speak, eventually graduating with honors .She authored 13 books, wrote countless articles, and devoted her life to social reforms Here are some of her quotes -

I am your liver ....

I live under your diaphragm behind your 5th and 10th ribs 

No, you can’t really feel me, but your doc can.so please don't crib .

I am often not given the same importance as the heart or the brain.

Though in romance and bravery  I get compared to the twain !!!

I am often referred to emotions of jealousy and rage ,I don't like this ,

I am important for your health so why not appreciate me for my wits .

I am covered by a soft capsule and slide down  smoothly 

Making space  for the right lung to deep breath  frequently 

I am  strong despite being fragile ,dark red and weigh  1. 5 kg ,

My looks are not pretty ,but you cannot do without me .

When I am cut I regenerate my own tissue ,am I not smart ?

That's the reason I can donate a part of me for a transplant .

I work very hard to accomplish the complex tasks in a disciplined way 

The excess glucose you eat I convert and save it  for the rainy day,

I release it the day your boss gives you  no time to eat a meal ,

So that you don't feel sloppy ,sense  dizziness ,sink and reel ,

I convert some of  your proteins to sugars when required ,

I even manufacture proteins to stop the bleeds from cuts as desired .

I manufacture cholesterol crucial for hormones and cell repair every day ,

Also convert the toxic ammonia to urea for the kidneys to wash it away

Some of them just ebb my life out and some even leave me dead .

On my becoming sick You loose appetite or suffer silently for a while 

Jaundice ,nausea ,vomiting occurs with the sluggish flow of bile ,

Sometimes my illness makes you swell and bleed from various sites ,

The liver is the largest organs in the body and is the link between the digestive and the circulatory systems. Ironically the liver is not respected as much as  the brain, heart, and lungs even though  without the liver, the physical body cannot live .Since none of its functions can be observed, like the heartbeat, pulse, or respiratory rate, the liver is only remembered when it malfunctions. 

The liver secretes bile that aids in the digestion of our food ,detoxifies the blood ,stores glucose needed for energy and stores vitamins and minerals.The liver makes various substances that aid in the clotting of blood.It regulates the body’s metabolism.These are just a few of the many more  functions of the liver.

The liver is the only organ which can  regenerate itself and "Wow "grow back to its original size in less then 8 years  that is why liver in spirituality corresponds to the state of an embryo which has the potential to grow with desire An ancient Greek myth revealed this fact before the existence of modern science. In the story of Prometheus, Zeus punished the demi-god for giving human’s the knowledge of fire. Zeus chained Prometheus to a rock and made him endure the eternal torture of an eagle eating his liver out every day. His liver would promptly grow back every night. 

The liver like the stomach is governed by the solar plexus Chakra . It has been suggested that if you have feelings of Irritation, impatience, being overtly critical, rage, hate, angry outburst, over reactivity, feelings of not feeling heard, not feeling loved, not being recognized, judgment, racism, the need to control, inability to express your feelings in a grounded/balanced way, lack of joy, denial and inability to be honest with yourself and others, inability to be authentic or any addiction of any kind....a Liver cleanse would be helpful. ..........
