A Roman priest St Valentine ,
Gave the world a solid reason ,
To celebrate love with all its shine,
Disclose your love,this is the season.
Emperor Claudius forbid men to love,
Presuming married men couldn't devote time
to country security , which ruled high above ,
Love, marriage ,families were hence a crime .
St Valentine opposed Claudius,
He married soldiers clandestinely,
Lovers now enjoyed married bliss,
Claudius thus became his great enemy .
The saint was proclaimed guilty and imprisoned ,
Julia the blind daughter of the prison in charge,
he met then , cured her and restored her vision ,
Unspoken love blossomed between them at large .
The day the saint was executed ,
The first valentine card he wrote,
The message of love was thus rooted,
