THE NAKED KING

T  The king wanted an exceptionally fine new dress,
H  His ministers were feeling  very stressed,
E   Every  weaver in his kingdom tried  their level best.

N   None  came up to the kings expectation,
A   A stranger then completed this mission,
K   knowledgeable and wise  men ,he said could only see this suit,
E   Endless price  was thus spent by the king in its pursuit .
D   Delicate and fine,he liked the fact that it would not be visible to idiot
      men.

K  king was happy to don this precious robe ,he said
I    I will travel in it around my kingdom  and  the globe .
N  No one dare say there was not a stich on him,he was in his birthday suit.
G  Girl of  six ,shouted then , the king is naked  and that's the truth.

THIS IS AN ACROSTIC POEM .
 Most of us know this story;
The king in his pursuit to wear the finest dress ultimately walks in his so to say fine suit which is supposed to be visible only to wise and knowledgeable people ,but  he is actually naked.
All men around were clapping and happy. They were all opportunists ,flatterers , cowards  and stupid fools afraid to tell the truth lest the king calls them idiots .
The child  present there was truthful , straight forward and  fearless and innocent.
She shouted – The King is naked.

This story is repeating itself in today's  corrupt  world .
But alas there is no innocent child  to shout out the truth?
Where has she been hidden in this oppressive world?

What is an Acrostic poem?
An acrostic poem  is a poem in which the first letters of each line spell out a word or phrase which  can be a name, a thing, or whatever you like.
Acrostics are easy to write because they don’t need to rhyme, and you don’t need to worry about the rhythm of the lines. Each line can be as long or as short as you want it to be.
In the above poem  there  is rhyme  and to some extent rhythm  has been maintained.
