I hurried through my daily morning routine,
It was getting past seven fifteen,
Hardly any time left for me to rush to work ,
I had to be in time for the seminar,I just couldn't shirk .
Post graduate meetings are of great concern,
Realizing , many things have to be unlearned and relearned .
They satisfy our academic hunger and curiosity ,
To look up everything on our own ,there is always a time paucity .
There is no age limit to updating knowledge ,
Academic meets fulfill this need in a medical college ,
To apply new trends in work ,it just has to be done ,
To practice sound medicine this can't be shunned .
To share our knowledge with our student,
To improve their ability ,these meets are deemed prudent ,
To teach them good medicine and valuable medical tips ,
It helps them to gain confidence and overcome their slips .
Continuing medical education keeps us abreast,
The patients surrender to us in full faith and trust ,
In this noble profession we dare not ignore ,
We are ethically bound to give them our best score .
The next time you think of giving the meet a miss,
Remember all this and give your excuses quits,
We are all bound by the Hippocratic oath,
To our profession , this is what we sincerely owe .
This message is for all my colleagues and students ,
God give us good sense to keep on striving for improvements,
Along with good ethics comes care , compassion ,understanding and love ,
Let us all pledge to follow our oath to the core ,and keep on rising above .
